Empire of Estates: Drama in the Real Estate Realm 4
If you read Parts 1-3 in this series, you’re clear on the difference between business coaching and consulting, of hiring a real estate coach, but drop me a line if you have questions!
I want to use today’s story to broach a semi-controversial topic—the idea of hiring a specialized business coach for women. You may be wondering what are the benefits of hiring a business coach for women? What does business coaching for women involve?
These are great questions, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts after we check in with Deb and Billy.
When last we spoke, Deb and Billy were given some troubling news—namely, that the neighbor living next to the home they are currently trying to sell had been surreptitiously whacked leading them to realize they definitely needed to hire a business strategy coach.
Deb felt the color drain from her face even as she heard Billy whisper, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“Wh-when did this happen?” she stammered.
The officer removed his sunglasses and sympathy showed in his eyes. “Two weeks ago. We just came by to make sure all the tape was removed. The good news is, we caught the guy who did it. You can rest easy.”
Yeah, right, Deb thought but she thanked the men for their time and turned back to what she was quickly beginning to consider the sale from hell.
Billy walked alongside her. “Are you kidding me? It’s going to be hard enough trying to unload this… this… Amityville horror on its own. But now that there’s been a murder next door? Do we have to disclose that?”
Deb pressed a hand to her forehead. “We didn’t know about the murder when we agreed to list the home.”
“Well, we sure as hell know about it now,” Billy groaned. “What are we going to do?”
Deb marched back toward the porch. She needed a place to sit…and, if she was being honest, a stiff drink. Who cared if it was nine o’clock in the morning? Not Deb.
But before she could get to the sanctuary of the porch, the scream of an electric guitar filled the air, stopping her and Billy dead in their tracks. The crows, who had found refuge in a nearby tree, tore out of the canopy as if they were being pursued by the devil himself.
The unmistakable music of the Rolling Stones screeched out from the backyard of the other neighboring home at an ear-splitting decibel level normally reserved for Madison Square Garden.
This can’t be happening, Deb thought as she made her way to the neighboring fence in search of the source of the clamor.
Why am I focusing on Deb in this story?
After all the work women have put in fighting for equality… Am I saying they need to hire a business coach for women?
Do I think women need specialized coaching? Not necessarily. Can they benefit from it? Absolutely.
Having women in positions of leadership within corporations is still relatively new, historically speaking, and many successful female executives and business professionals are wrestling against deeply ingrained circumstances and roles in which they were raised.
What does business coaching for women involve?
It’s not uncommon to wonder what business coaching for women involves when compared to coaching for men. Female executives sometimes need specialized support to overcome the psychological hurdles that are set up to slow their success. Preparing to blow through the glass ceiling and getting comfortable sharing ideas and opinions as one of the few (or only) females at the table sometimes are just a few examples of the unique challenges women face in the workplace.
What are the benefits of a business coach for women?
With the help of a business coach for women, female professionals can learn to believe in their own capabilities and ditch the weight of carrying around imposter syndrome. They can identify their own unique strengths and learn to leverage them for their own success. And they can accept themselves as equals amongst their peers regardless of gender.
So, what are the benefits of hiring a business coach for women? Let’s be clear. Women don’t require specialized coaching because they are more delicate or more sensitive. Women deserve specialized coaching to help them push past the patriarchy and kick the shit out of a very real glass ceiling.
Until next time, friends, when we’ll find out exactly what is waiting for Deb and Billy on the other side of that fence.
