Empire of Estates: Drama in the Real Estate Realm 6

To recap, we introduced you to the difference between business coaching and consulting and the importance of hiring a real estate coach. We’ve shared how a  business strategy coach can be a tremendous advantage for realtors, but Is hiring a coach for new realtors worth it?

For those new to the real estate business, the idea of hiring a business coach seems counterintuitive. After all, you’ve just gotten your new business off the ground. Do you really need to shell out more money for a coach? What even are the benefits of hiring a coach for new realtors?

But first, let’s see how Deb and Billy’s story shakes out…

“Tanya who?” mumbled Deb, her eyes filled with hopelessness.

“Seriously?” Billy said, cocking an eyebrow. “Don’t you remember Coach Bugbee? She is the coach that big-wig real estate firm recommended for new realtors like us.”

“Right, right.” Deb sighed, “But why hire a coach as new realtors? What on earth is she supposed to do? Unless she is secretly a witch who can swoop in and magically clean up this mess of a house...”

“Honestly, I don’t know,” Billy said with a grin. “But it’s worth a try.”

Deb nodded. “You’re right. We are }in a dicey situation, our reputations are at stake, and we’re hemorrhaging money.”  She let out a big breath and said, “Let’s give her a call.”

An hour later, a taxi pulled into the driveway of the rickety old house. A woman with silver hair and an imposing stare stepped out of the cab, turned, and strolled to the foot of the steps where Billy and Deb sat staring.

“Deb. Billy. I am here,” said the stranger. “I am Tanya, Coach Bugbee. You called me.”

“That was quick,” said Billy.

“The tides of this business wait for no one, Billy. I am at your service.”

“Well, we are short on ideas and desperate,” said Deb as she shook Tanya’s hand.

Tanya turned to stare up at the house. “Oh, she is a beauty, isn’t she?”

“Beauty?” scoffed Billy. “I appreciate the humor and positivity from a coach, but let’s get real here. This house looks like something out of Hogwarts.”

“Azkaban” Tanya said thoughtfully. “It’s more reminiscent of Azkaban than Hogwarts, although I can see how that confusion might come about.”

The two realtors stared at her wide-eyed and wondered how this lady was going to help them sell this nightmare of a house in two weeks.

As if reading their minds, Coach Bugbee interrupted their thoughts. “You won’t.”

She went on to explain that their brand was at greater risk if they chose to rush the renovation of the house. She explained how she would teach them to have crucial, confident conversations with their clients so that they were in charge – not their clients. Coach Bugbee laid out a plan to help Debb and Billy with confidence and verbiage and provided a roadmap – a yellow brick road they could follow to their own happily ever after.

Deb and Billy slowed down their process and followed the systems that Coach Bugbee provided. Not only did they sell the unsellable home, but they also closed with a very happy and grateful starlet in their corner who was shouting their praises on social media while making a profit and building a strong and profitable business.

Deb and Billy worked together to complement one another’s strengths and weaknesses.

And never ever did they let their clients dictate the journey of buying or selling a home again.

Don’t you just love a happy ending? Now, let’s address those questions we talked about earlier.

Is hiring a coach for new realtors worth it?

Hiring a coach helps new realtors gain a better perspective, learn what they don’t know, and navigate roadblocks by leveraging their coach’s experience in their favor.

So, is hiring a coach for new realtors worth it? Abso-freakin-lutely.

What are the benefits of hiring a coach for new realtors?

Here are a few of my faves:

·         Objective feedback

·         Accountability

·         Guidance on marketing, sales, and client handling

·         Goal setting

·         Fresh perspective

In short, it’s hard to put a price on the value you’ll receive from an experienced coach.

Hiring a coach for new realtors is a step worth taking. As Deb and Billy learned, connecting with the right coach really is an investment in the success of your business.
